Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I see username history anymore?
Mojang have removed the ability to view username history via the official API due to "safety concerns".

Can I use this website to check a large list of usernames?
This isn't a place to check more than one username in one search, mostly due to rate limit restrictions on the API. If you need to search for lots of usernames at once, consider using a robust API with caching such as Electroid's mojang-api.

Can I "snipe" usernames using this website?
No. This website is only for checking username availability.

A name is shown as available, so why can't I change to it?
Some usernames are subject to a word filter and some are permanently blocked. Unfortunately there is no way to check this without attempting to change it on the Minecraft site. There is also a 37-day cooldown period that applies to recently changed usernames; this may apply to your current search.

Can I view my search history?
You can view your searches made in the last 30 days here: /history

Can I have my search history removed?
Any non-hidden searches are only available on the front page if they are in the 13 most recent checks globally. A feature to self-remove search history will soon be available on the /history page.

Can you help with my Minecraft/Mojang account?
We are not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft, so we are unable to help with account issues.
